Accessibility Support & Resources

Free and open content may or may not meet accessibility requirements.  Course content must be made accessible for all users. If you find an existing OER that you'd like to use, work with the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) to check and make changes for accessibility where needed. Work with ARC for all your course materials accessibility needs.

If you are making your own OER with your original content or adapting and remixing content, there are tools you can use to check for accessibility that are built into different platforms. Learn more about accessibility from Cal Poly Humboldt's Accessible Technology Initiative page "Creating Accessible Content."

To learn more about making documents accessible, consider taking the WebAIM Accessible Document Training made available through the Chancellor's Office support.
