This guide is designed to help you with your next video project. There are many resources to help you both within the Library and online. This guide has several pages for the different parts of creating a video. Use the navigation menu (to the left or top on mobile devices) to find some pointers on getting started on your project.
The Digital Media Lab also has equipment and software that you can use for your project. You can also set up one-on-one appointments with us or attend a SkillShop to learn more about shooting and editing videos.
The HSU Digital Media Lab (DML) is here to help you create video, audio, photo, and web-based projects.
We have equipment to borrow, including cameras, microphones, 360 video cameras, virtual reality viewers, and many accessories. All of the DML equipment is available to borrow at the Checkout Desk on the first floor of the Library. Items can be borrowed for 72 hours and all equipment is free to use.
We also have computers with production and editing software available to all students, all day. The DML computers are located in the Library Makerspace on the third floor of the Library across from Special Collections.
The DML also offers instruction on learning about the equipment and software needed to create your projects. Through regular face-to-face and asynchronous at-your-own-pace SkillShops and special events, the DML is the place on campus to learn about digital media. Interested in creating digital projects? Not sure where to start? Looking for some inspiration? We can help you get new ideas, get your hands on great equipment and software and learn about new tools. Contact us to learn more or to set up a one-on-one tutoring session.
