During the 2020 Fall semester, online SkillShops had 1,372 total attendees, with 838 people earning badges through Canvas SkillShops and 534 people attending live Zoom SkillShops.

What are SkillShops?

HSU SkillShops are co-curricular workshops facilitated by staff, faculty and students across campus. SkillShops are: 

  • Brief drop-in workshops that introduce or develop skills through exploration and/or application (includes Zoom sessions and Canvas at-your-pace tutorials)
  • Co-curricular
  • Active and hands-on learning 25+ minutes
  • Allow students to set their own learning goals
  • Incorporate strategies for creating engaging & interactive learning environments
  • Encourage discovery, exploration & social connection
