Meet Up and Make Hours have been canceled for the rest of the semester since the Library has closed (reopen tbd). In the meantime, keep making and share your projects with us on Instagram by tagging @hsulibrary or #hsumaker or #hsumakerspace. Want to learn new maker skills online? Check out other tabs on this guide and our Online SkillShops.
The Library Makerspace is open for use at any time, but sometimes it's nice to have a designated time to meet. During Meet Up and Make Hours (every Monday-Saturday 12-2 and 5-7pm) you can meet with a librarian, other makers (like yourselves), or work on self-directed projects. Come to Meet Ups to chat about projects, ideas, and troubleshooting for all kinds of maker topics, or just to get connected with other people interested in being creative. Some Meet Ups will feature a maker related SkillShops with time to work on a related project or practice skills that you explored in the SkillShop. Other Meet Ups will be thematic or open for free play.
Librarians will be at the Meet Ups on Wednesdays from 12-1pm and Thursdays 5-6pm to facilitate activities. Otherwise, bring your friends, connect with people in the space, work on your own project, or try out one of our kits. Every Thursday from 12-2 is the Stitching Together Meet Up where you can work on fiber crafts like knitting and crochet and meet others who are interested in making fiber based projects. If you can't make these times, feel free to come to the makerspace to work on your projects at any time you'd like.
Makerspace Student Assistants will be available during the meet up hours to assist with projects, help find answers to maker questions, and show of different tools and equipment you can use in the space and check out!
