Welcome

If you need a refresher or brush up on your research skills, the main HSU Library web page is a great starting point: see Research Roadmap, How To Videos, Ask A Librarian, or connect directly to known Research Tools and services.

Getting Started

Quick Search: Articles+

Great for emerging topics, including both popular and scholarly sources.

Google Scholar

     Beyond Google...

Try them and then compare results with searching directly in your targeted databases, e.g. Anthropology Plus, AnthroSource, etc.

A book may be worth a thousand words

A recent book (print or ebook) on your topic that explores issues and provides a bibliography or references can be a great first step in your research.  Use the Catalog tab in Quick Search to find both print and ebooks.

The ebook vendor "Ebrary" allows you to establish your own login and to save and annotate titles and file them for future use on your "bookshelf."

Remember also that books (print and ebook) are included in Articles+.  Simply select the Books tab on the search results page.
