Hall of Simulation

The Anatomage Table allows for users to gain a more in-depth understanding of the anatomical systems of various simulated humans and animals. The Table is capable of displaying bodily systems, simulating various procedures, and replicating dissection operations.

The Cal Poly Humboldt Library is one of two libraries in California to house this learning technology. The Anatomage Table makes use of complex 3D models so learners can interact with cadavers and associated anatomical structures in real-time. Users employ dissection tools, flashcard-style quizzes, and scans to interact with complex anatomy in a new way.

The Anatomage Table is capable of rendering detailed and segmented 3D models for learner use. Each of these models are fully realized; allowing learners to rotate, resize, and move them as desired. Segmented models have their anatomical systems separated into different visual layers, giving learners the ability to highlight them individually. Furthermore, the tools of the Table allow learners to dissect pieces for more detailed viewing. The Table provides pen tools for written annotations, the highlighter to color different structures, and pins to mark areas for later review.

The Anatomage Table is a powerful learning tool for those interested in human physiology, zoology, and archeology. The capabilities of the Table promote learning in a three-dimensional and hands-on way. Students can test their knowledge against fully-realized cadavers to ensure their understanding matches what they would see in real life.
