Off-Campus Software, Internet and IT Support

Software Access

You can access campus software, including different operating systems, using Remote Access or Vlab (details below). If you are having issues accessing these services, visit the ITS System Status page to make sure they are working properly.

Remote Access (Chromebooks, Macs, and Windows) allows you to login to an campus computer over the internet. You will have access to all of the software on that computer. You will need to install a program to make the connection (the remote access page includes instructions).

Vlab (all computers with internet access) allows you to login to a virtual desktop that includes software typically available in campus computer labs (current list of VLab software). Does not require any connection software.

Internet Access

Current students may access eduroam Wi-Fi near any CSU campus, including Cal Poly Humboldt, using their campus credentials.

Technology Needs

Students who have any additional technology needs (software, hardware, internet access and more) should submit a help ticket to the ITS Help Desk.

Online SkillShops

You can learn about research, citations, shooting video, and more through our Online SkillShops which are up and running during the full Fall 2020 semester.
