We have a limited number of Chromebook computers available for students long term checkout. To have a laptop shipped to you, please email email@example.com and include your name, student ID#, and mailing address.
Students who have any additional technology needs (software, hardware, internet access and more) should submit a help ticket to the ITS Help Desk.
Current students may access eduroam Wi-Fi near any CSU campus, including Humboldt State, using their campus credentials. Parking is currently free at HSU.
You can access campus software, including different operating systems, using Remote Access or Vlab (details below). If you are having issues accessing these services, visit the ITS System Status page to make sure they are working properly.
Remote Access (Chromebooks, Macs, and Windows) allows you to login to an HSU computer over the internet. You will have access to all of the software on that computer. You will need to install a program to make the connection (the remote access page includes instructions).
Vlab (all computers with internet access) allows you to login to a virtual desktop that includes software typically available in HSU computer labs (current list of VLab software). Does not require any connection software.
To contact a Librarian for help with your research project, please email the Research Help Desk. We will respond as quickly as we can to answer your question and/or set up a phone call or web conferencing.
Currently, research help hours are normal business hours 9am-5pm M-F. A librarian should be able to answer by the end of the day, however we will try to answer all questions within 24 hours.
