1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize cash awards will be awarded to nursing student teams who created the most popular public service announcement videos (PSAs). 

Voting will close at 11:59 on May 10, 2024. 

Videos can be judged using the following criteria: 

1) Was the issue communicated clearly? 
2) Was information effectively used to communicate the issue? 
3) Is the issue communicated in a compelling or creative way?

For Students: Project Kick-Off and PSA Planning Presentation

About the Competition

During the Spring 2024 semester, Nursing students at Cal Poly Humboldt worked in teams to design and develop public service announcements (PSAs). These videos will be entered into a competition where students can win cash prizes. Learning objectives for this project include: 

  • Identifying useful, reliable, and trusted health information resources from the National Library of Medicine.
  • Creating accessible and engaging PSAs that promote health literacy and informed health decision-making in the community.
  • Engaging with the themes of the NLM Making a World of Difference: Stories About Global Health exhibit by screening PSAs in conjunction with the exhibition.
