Starting Your Search

It's a good idea to start with a broad search by using only two of the terms/phrases you came up with earlier. When you have a broad set of results, it's easy to narrow it down and to see how well your strategies are working. If you start with a narrow set of results, it's hard to tell what you're missing and how to best broaden your search.

Go to one of the databases listed earlier: you can search all our databases within the Ebsco platformLinks to an external site., all of the databases within the ProQuest platformLinks to an external site., find a database listed on your course subject Research GuideLinks to an external site., or Google ScholarLinks to an external site.. Try out the search string you just came up with and analyze your results.
