Cal Poly Humboldt is one of a handful of academic libraries completing this process. This work is supportive of Library development and campus academics/research for sustainability. How can the Library better serve sustainability? Please, leave feedback here - general feedback form.

Working Group:

  • Morgan Barker, Sustainability Librarian - Chair, mew11@humboldt.edu
  • Bri Hagen, Discovery and Metadata Services Librarian
  • Melitta Jackson, Resource Sharing and Information Specialist
  • Avril Frasche, Community Member and current MLIS student
  • Library Sustainability Research Intern

Facilitating thoughtful outcomes - this group aims to use slow productivity while working on this project, which include use of meditative meeting elements. A meditative meeting is a unique approach that combines elements of mindfulness and contemplation with meeting formats.Through this process the following frameworks will be incorporated - ACRL Frameworks, Intersectional Environmentalism, 17 Principles of Environmental Justice, Just Transitions Framework

Sustainability is nuanced - environmentally sound, socially just, economically feasible - while looking at UN SDGs, true costs, indigenous lens, climate resilience, equity centering, and a kinship with nature.
