We have many tutorials and videos on research skills and library resources available for self-paced learning. In addition, students can self-enroll in SkillShops, online through Canvas or in-person workshops to improve their research skills.
Cal Poly Humboldt Library collections are accessible via a one-stop search tool called OneSearch that allows you to find books and articles and explore the library’s unique collections.
Under Google Scholar settings, set "Library Links" to include Cal Poly Humboldt. This will connect your results to our Library collection. Available items will display FindIt@Humboldt and link to the Library record for access.
RESOURCE SHARING
You can also expand your search to include materials from other libraries worldwide that you can request for free through Resource Sharing. Even if we don't have what you're looking for, there's a good chance we can get it for you from another library. Once you’ve submitted a request, library staff will determine the most efficient way to obtain the materials. You'll be notified via email when your request is available. Returning materials on time and in good condition ensures that the lending libraries will continue to share materials.
Check out the Library Makerspace page for updated hours, MeetUp and Maker events, and monthly design challenges each semester. The website also details equipment that can be checked out, how-to guides, and 3D printing tips.
Students can apply for internships in the Makerspace as well.
Email makerspace@humboldt.edu to meet with a librarian to collaborate on class projects.
