Using Call Numbers and Finding Books

What is a Call Number?

When you search for a book (or other item) from the library homepage, you will see its call number under the description of the item.

To search for Cinematic Footprint : Lights, Camera, Natural Resources by Nadia Bozak, you can type the title in the search box on the library homepage:

If you click "Search" you will get a page of results:

If you click the item in the results list that shows the item as "Available," you will see a page with more information about the item, including its location and call number:

The details provided are:

Available , Third Floor, south ; PN1993.5.A1 B69 2012

This means that the book is in the library (no one has it checked out), it can be found on the third floor, and there is one copy. If a book is checked out, you would see the due date for when it is due back. If a book is also available as an eBook, you would also see the link to view the electronic copy.

The call number for  the book is PN 1993.5 .A1 B69 2012
