Find Books

Search for "immigration and latinos"

There's a book called Harvest of empire: a history of Latinos in America in the list. To see more about the book, click on the title. The call number is the address of the book. Books arranged alphabetically by the first letter of the call number (NOT the author's last name).

Scroll down to Subjects, where you will see a list of other subject headings related to the topic of this book. Click on these links to get new search results.

Narrow or Broaden

Once you have a list of keywords and a few synonyms, it's time to search!

As you go along, you may find that you are either getting too many or too few search results. If this happens, don't worry! It's all part of the process.

The rule of thumb is:

If you are getting too many results, add an AND and another keyword. For example, "psychology AND immigration."

If you are getting too few results, try adding an OR and a synonym. For example, "immigration AND (children OR youth)."
