Copyright for Educators

This guide can help faculty and staff understand the exceptions and limitations to copyright in an academic setting

Open Access

Why Choose Open Access?

Much of the research that is done is funded or partially funded by government grants. Authors don't expect monetary compensation for publishing their research- they want broad exposure. Wide readership means more readers, opportunities to collaborate, and recognition. Technology allows us to share this research widely and quickly at low cost. So why are we asked to pay $40 to read a single article?
